Mark Bell, the distributor of the product, wanted to create a local nickname that would be easy to remember. However, as much as we liked the Hawaiian-style suggestions, he decided to stick with function over flash and chose the Cooler Scooter as the winner. • It can be driven up to 15 miles on a single battery charge, and reaches a cruising speed of 10-15 mph.

• The device is classified the same as mobility scooters and motorized wheelchairs, so it can be used for supermarket trips.

The add-on cooler attachment retails for $159 plus $50 for tax and shipping. Keep in mind that you can hook up your own cart or wagon to transport heavy items.
